CJM’s mission is to improve our communities by supporting and empowering those impacted by incarceration. CJM envisions a future for those impacted by incarceration where their relationships and communities are safe and supportive, incarceration is minimized, and recidivism is eliminated.Since 1979, Criminal Justice Ministry (CJM) has served individuals, families, and communities impacted by the criminal justice system. From offering services to incarcerated individuals to providing reentry programs for those returning to the St. Louis area, CJM seeks to serve the needs of the most vulnerable without judgment. Last fiscal year, CJM impacted over 23,000 individuals both inside area institutions and throughout the St. Louis community.

WE DEPEND ON YOUR DONATIONS
For someone returning home from prison, finding an affordable and safeplace to live is a very important factor in his or her re-entry into society.Outside of steady employment, and a strong support system, stable housing is essential to reducing the recidivism rates of ex-offenders. Criminal Justice Ministry is committed to aiding the formerly incarcerated in securing apartments by providing the initial moving costs, such as deposits and first month rents, so that ex-offenders won’t have to worry about where they will lay their heads and, instead, can use their energies focusing on proper rehabilitation and building brighter and positive futures.
